What is BCALM?
The British Columbia Aboriginal Land Managers (BCALM) invites you to become a member of an exciting organization representing British Columbia First Nation Land Managers. BCALM is a not-for-profit organization and one of eight regional associations affiliated with the National Aboriginal Lands Managers Association (NALMA). BCALM provides regionally specific training and networking opportunities to Land Managers working for First Nations in BC. It has been a longstanding goal of BCALM and NALMA to create a dialogue between grassroots workers at the First Nation, Regional, and National levels. This approach allows Land Managers to access a wide range of skills and resources that will encourage sustainable management of First Nations lands.
Who is Eligible to Join?
Any First Nations in BC wishing to enhance their skills and knowledge, and access training, tools, and systems for their Lands staff.
What are the Costs?
Full Member:
Voting member of the association: $300/year
Associate Member:
Non-voting member of the association: $600/year
How Do I Join BCALM?
- Download First Nation Profile form.
- Download the application form.
- Fill out the application form:
a) For voting members:A First Nation Council Resolution (or Band Council Resolution), downloadable here, needs to be signed by your Chief and Council and must identify a representative for your First Nation.
b) For associate members: Please attach a copy of your constituting documents (Articles of Incorporation, Letters Patent, Partnership Agreements). - Send the BCR or constituting documents to BCALM with the application form to finalize registration.
All memberships will be approved by the Board of Directors, and you will be notified once this approval has been completed and your membership is processed.
