We are proud to share that Leona Irons-Cummings of Curve Lake First Nation has been appointed to the Order of Canada. Leona is dedicated to empower Indigenous land managers and professionals. As the driving force behind the National Aboriginal Lands Managers Association (NALMA), she has created invaluable opportunities for networking, training, and professional development rooted in sustainable and culturally relevant best practices. Thanks to her leadership, many First Nation communities are achieving greater autonomy in governing their ancestral lands. This recognition is a well-deserved testament to her dedication and impact.
