Lands Management 101 – Virtual Training Series

Registration is open for BCALMA’s Lands Management 101 Training Program.

Developed in partnership with Quinseenum Lands Inc., this eight-session virtual training series provides a practical introduction to First Nations land management and the processes, tools, and responsibilities that support day-to-day work in a Lands Office.

The program is designed for current and future lands professionals and can also support staff working in related areas such as environmental management, housing, economic development, administration, and community planning.

What You’ll Learn
Across eight interactive sessions, participants will build foundational knowledge and practical skills in:

  • Reserve land management
  • Individual land holdings
  • Leases and permits
  • Indian Lands Registry System (ILRS)
  • Google Earth mapping
  • Encumbrance checks
  • Wills and estates
  • Land designations

Participants will learn from Quinseenum Lands Inc., a family-owned Indigenous business bringing more than 40 years of combined experience in First Nations lands governance and management.

Certificate of Completion
Participants who complete at least six of the eight sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion.

The series is currently underway and registration remains open for upcoming sessions.
