July 9 - July 11
This training is a great opportunity for Land Managers to expand their knowledge of the Wills and Estates process.
Scope and Process
This toolkit training is designed to support those tasked with assisting BC First Nations with estate management on reserve. The NALMA Estates Management Toolkit has been developed to assist First Nation Land Managers/First Nations in educating their citizens on the importance of managing estates under the Minister’s jurisdiction. We will explore the estate management process from the death of an FN member to the distribution of their estate assets and the closing of the estate file. It looks at common principles, best practices, suggested methods, and additional resources to navigate the Indian Act estate management process.
