The National Aboriginal Lands Managers Association (NALMA) is pleased to offer GIS Toolkit Training. Embark on a transformative journey with our “Uncover the World: Introduction to GIS” workshop, tailored to address the unique needs of First Nation communities and Aboriginal land managers. Designed for beginners and those with basic knowledge, the session delves into fundamental GIS concepts, offering hands-on activities in mapping, data manipulation, and spatial analysis. This specialized session goes beyond the basics of GIS, delving into how geospatial technology plays a crucial role in empowering these communities to manage and protect their lands effectively. Learn how GIS facilitates sustainable resource management, land-use planning, and cultural preservation within Indigenous contexts.
