SUMMARY:External Webinar - Water Boundaries
DESCRIPTION:A key role of a land surveyor is to re-establish property lines. Determining a boundary along the edge of a water body can be one of the most challenging parts of boundary re-establishment. The edge of a water body can be influenced by many factors over time\, and it is the land surveyor’s responsibility to sort out whether or not the physical characteristics at a site represent the property line. This webinar will provide insights from three experienced land surveyors from different parts of the country. They will share a few of their experiences and provide some guidance on key elements to look for on site that can help identify whether the water body has been influenced by natural or human changes that do not alter the location of the boundary and also changes such as natural erosion and lawful accretion that may change the location of the property line over time. \nOur panel will consist of Bob Halliday from Ontario\, Ryan Gordon from north of 60 and Jeff Beddoes from British Columbia. Brent Taylor will be the moderator. Each panelist will have 20 to 30 minutes to share their experiences then there will be 20 minutes left for questions from the audience. \nOctober 15\, 2024 at 10:00 to 11:45 PST \nCost for attendees: $75. \nAdvanced registration is required: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN__X68HdV-SUKH8B5rN8GpfQ \n
