SUMMARY:How to Build a First Nations Lands Department Workshop
DESCRIPTION:HOW TO BUILD A FIRST NATION’S LANDS DEPARTMENT WORKSHOP \nBCALM will be hosting a How to Build a First Nation’s Lands Department Workshop February 13th & 14th\, 2024 at the Delta Hotels Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort in Kelowna\, BC (1310 Water Street Kelowna\, BC). \nTravel day to the workshop will be February 12\, 2024 and travel home day will be February 15\, 2024. \nThe How to Build a First Nation’s Lands Department Workshop is intended to be a resource and tool for lands staff that may not be familiar with the requirements of a land management office set-up. The workshop will provide participants with the information to better understand the fundamentals of managing a lands office. Key components of a land management will include an overview of office equipment\, software\, record keeping\, finance\, communications and archives. Focus will be on best practices to promote well-organized and efficient land management\, streamline processes and build strong relationships with internal departments and external third parties. \nWhen: February 13th-14th\, 2024\nLocation: Delta Hotels Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort\, Kelowna BC\nWorkshop Participants: Only 20 participants will be accepted for this workshop and is on a first come first serve basis. \nWhat is covered by BCALM:\nBCALM will be responsible for booking of hotel rooms and hotel charges such as room\, tax\, deposit and parking. Any other hotel charges will be the responsibility of the participant.\nBreakfast\, Lunch and snacks will be provided on February 13th & 14th\, 2024.\nParticipants are eligible to apply for reimbursement for travel costs for mileage\, flights\, commercial transportation\, and meals that are not provided by BCALM during the workshop.
