DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for BCALMA’s Land-Based Peer Mentorship Retreat\, taking place March 18–20\, 2026 at Fraser River Lodge in Agassiz\, BC. \nHosted in Cheam First Nation (Xwchiyo:m)\, this three-day\, family-friendly land-based learning experience will bring together emerging and experienced First Nations Land and Environment staff and their families for connection\, knowledge sharing\, and mentorship. \nEmerging: less than 2 years experience \nExperienced: more than 2 years experience \nParticipants will: \n\nStrengthen foundational land governance knowledge\nExplore environmental stewardship practices\nBuild a community of practice through peer mentorship and knowledge transfer\nParticipate in an ecological restoration tour\nEngage in Indigenous storytelling\nTake part in campfire sharing circles and a family scavenger hunt\nTour local initiatives and community-led work\n\nThis retreat is designed to create space for intergenerational learning\, relationship-building\, and shared leadership in a supportive and family-friendly environment. \nTo register\, please use the following link:\nBCALMA Peer Mentorship Retreat Event Dates: March 18-20\, 2026 – Fill out form \nIf you your family is joining\, please include their names and ages. \nLocation: Fraser River Lodge\, 7984 McDonald Road South\, Agassiz\, BC\nDates: March 18–20\, 2026 \nAccommodations:\nParticipants are responsible for booking their own accommodations by calling the venue directly.
