DESCRIPTION:Hello BCALMA Members\, \nRegistration is now open for the BCALMA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Gathering\, taking place January 27-29\, 2027\, from 9:00am to 4:00pm hosted at the The Douglas at Parq Casino in Vancouver. \nThis year’s theme\, “Rooted in Land\, Honouring Our Teachings\, and Uplifting One Another”\, highlights our shared commitment to creating gathering spaces that balance practical land governance tools with Indigenous knowledge systems\, land-based learning\, peer mentorship\, wellness\, and Nation-to-Nation collaboration. \nTogether\, we will: \n\nReview the Annual Report and audited financial statements\nElect two new Board of Directors to guide our future direction\nReflect on wellness for self\, land\, and organizations—recognizing that strong land management begins with healthy leaders and healthy Nations\n\nCall for Presenters – Member & Community Presentations\nAttached to this email is an Expression of Interest for those who would like to share the work their community or organization is doing. We encourage presentations\, workshops\, panels\, demonstrations\, and land-based sessions that support Indigenous land stewardship and strengthen community capacity. \nAdvanced Nominations\nAttached to this email are the forms for members who wish to submit advanced nominations for the Board of Directors. All Advanced Nomination\, Seconder\, and Acceptance forms must be submitted to admin@bcalma.ca by Tuesday\, January 19\, 2027. The forms included are: \n\nBCALM Nomination Form 2026\nBCALM Seconder Nomination Form 2026\nBCALM Nomination Acceptance Form 2026\n\nTravel & Accommodation Information: Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodations. \n*Travel Sponsorships are available for BCALMA members\, maximum $1\,500 per First Nation. \n**Registration is not limited to one participant per First Nation; however\, sponsorship is only available for up to $1\,500 per First Nation.
